The United States of America, more commonly referred to as just America, was the wealthiest country prior to The First Voyage, and one of 193 member states of the United Nations of Earth. They were originally formed out of a colony created by the British Empire in the 17th century CE, and gained independence in the 18th century. Their government operated the National Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA), which was the largest space agency at the time.
